Contributing editor Richard Langley noticed some aberrant data when compiling GNSS constellation charts for that issue’s Almanac reference section. He discovered that Beidou 1D has been drifting rapidly in its orbit since early this year, at the rate of about 4.5 degrees per day. “That might make it unusable for the domestic system,” he wrote to me on July 14.
